As we all know that Uttarakhand is one of the most beautiful hill stations in North India. If you love to see snowfall then every winter season from December to February you can enjoy it in Uttarakhand. I have covered and seen all the hill stations in Uttarakhand, whether it is in the Garhwal or Kumaon region.

Indeed, you find the most beautiful hill stations in Uttarakhand and a picture-perfect state that impresses tourists with the most scenic verdant hill stations, lush green valleys, beautiful hamlets, snow-covered valleys, unblemished nature, and physical activities like Hiking, Camping, Trekking, River Rafting, etc.

Nainital

So we will start with one of the most famous tourist place called Nainital in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. It is surrounded by mountains from every corner offering a majestic view of the Himalayas and covered between the majestic mountains, right in the lap of Naini Lake. It’s the nearest beautiful hill station and hardly 6.5 hours drive from Delhi. Nainital is a must-visit place throughout the year. If you visit at Summer weekends, then it will much more be crowded.

The Nainital lake is quite covered with restaurants, shops, hotels, and markets. One can take walk through the forest and explore the surrounding area on horseback, or relax on a boat in the lake which is unmissable. You find snowfall every year between the end of December to February.

Chopta – A Must Visit Place In Uttarakhand

Chopta lies between Kedarnath and Badrinath and a perfect place to visit in the Winter season. Where you find beautiful snowfall and mesmerized white-coated mountains. Tungnath is one of the highest Shiva temples in the world, which is located in the Garhwal region.

So if you love trekking and hiking then this place will be the perfect spot for you. Tungnath & Chandrashila are one of the most popular treks among Indian trekking enthusiasts. The trek to the peak is 5 km, This can be covered in approximately 4–5 hours, which depends on the trekker’s physical ability.

Munsiyari

This is one of my favorite places to visit, though it is quite far from Delhi but definitely a worthwhile place to visit. Munsiyari is around 560 km (16 hours) from Delhi. Small town, which is surrounded by lush green mountains in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand. Certainly, a paradise for mountaineers and trekkers and mostly preferred by travelers.

The Namik, Pindari & Milam glaciers are the most visiting place nearby Munsiyari. The best time to visit places in Munsiyari is in the summer season and early in the winter season. Local attractions and sightseeing in Munsiyari can be done within half a day or one day, but to see all the sightseeing places, you need to stay in Munsiyari for at least 2 days.

Places To Visit in Uttarakhand, Chamoli!

Chamoli is known as the “Abode of Gods’ and a beautiful town is well-known for its mesmerizing shrines, valleys, ancient temples, and delightful Garhwali traditions. The Valley of Flowers is the most attractive point in the Chamoli district. The trek is 38 km long which can be covered in 4 days where you have to trek approximately for 6 hours every day.

During the winter season the pathways to Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara, a famous Sikh pilgrim place in Chamoli district in Uttarakhand. The Chamoli city range adds five stars to its name as the most famous tourist destination places such as the Badrinath, Auli, Hemkund Sahib Temple, Valley of flowers, Gopinath temple, Ukhimath, etc are located nearby.

Auli

If you love doing Skiing then Auli will be the perfect destination for you. Auli basically lies on the way to Badrinath and almost has a three-kilometer long slope, gondola, chairlift, and Poma ski lift. For skiing, conditions are best from the last week of January till the beginning of March month as you get the perfect form of ice for skiing. However, it depends on good snowfall, which varies to weather.

Auli is a magnificent hill station in the Kumaon region that offers a panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges and an interesting place to visit in Uttarakhand. Auli is a very popular tourist place in Uttarakhand surrounded by coniferous and oak trees. If you’re into trekking, then there are many hiking trails like Kuari Pass trailhead, Gorson, Tali, Khulara, and Tapovan are at Auli.

Ranikhet

Ranikhet is one of the beautiful places in Uttarakhand, which is also known as “Queen’s Meadow”. It attracts tourists throughout the year and it’s like a Shimla of Uttarakhand. I would recommend spending time inside the city only in the off-season as you get the most crowded in a peak season. Though it is also a famous honeymoon holiday spot because of the pleasant season throughout the year.

Certainly, Ranikhet is the most happening place and the hill station is located nearby Nainital. The highway to Ranikhet has a lot of small markets where vendors had a variety of delicious apples, apricots, peaches, plums, and various other alpine fruits.

Mussoorie

Mussoorie is one of the popular hill stations in Uttarakhand in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. It’s a perfect weekend destination place for NCR people because it is just 6 hours and 30 minutes (290 Km) drive from Delhi. It has the most beautiful scenic views, along with all the essential amenities for tourists. The place will be very beautiful in August as you can see in the below picture. You can enjoy nature’s beauty through the cable-car ride from the Mall to Gun Hill and is priced at around Rs. 75 for a round-trip.

If you are planning to visit this place in August, choose public transport from Dehradun to visit this place. This trip will be very beautiful and spectacular with the windy climate. Inside Mussoorie, there are many natural attractions including waterfalls, where one can enjoy the beautiful lush green surroundings along with a perfect picnic spot at Kempty Falls.

Stunning Places To Visit In Uttarakhand – Pithoragarh

Maybe you haven’t heard much about Pithoragarh, but you must visit this place once in your life. This place has the most beautiful and stunning scenic views and one of the largest commercial areas in Uttarakhand. If you love trekking then you get the most pleasant trekking options are there.

You can visit Jhulaghat, which is located at the Indo-Nepal border and around 35 Km from Pithoragarh. You can go and enjoy at Kali River, which flows through the city and makes major attraction points. At Kali River, one can enjoy the river-rafting and other fun activities as well.
