4000 Watch Hours
Hello There, First of all – Wish You A Very Happy New Year. I hope you are doing good, me too! Today I am going to tell you why 4000 Watch Hours are not updating correctly on YouTube? and how you can achieve it in the easiest way. From the last few months, most of the YouTubers are facing this sort of challenge that the videos have a good amount of views but watch hours are incorrect on the monetization page. Before I begin you can check out these blogs
Every new YouTuber, who does work-hard to grow his/her channel so that they can start earning from the advertisement. But when they find the public watch hours are not increasing, they get upset. I would request you to read the complete article to know why is it happening?
You have noticed that on the Analytics page, the number are already up to date and accurate as it should be. But whenever you check the same on the Monetization page, it doesn’t give you the real count. Before I break this suspense, let me clear one thing whenever you apply for monetization, you’ll have to follow these rules
Table of Contents
Monetization Minimum Eligibility
First of all, you must have a minimum of 1,000 subscribers on your YouTube channel.
All of your videos must have generated 4,000 Public Watch Time (Hours) over the last 365 days.
You comply with all of YouTube’s policies as well as guidelines & must follow the YouTube Partner Program overview & eligibility.
Have a linked AdSense account.
Linked AdSense Account
These points must-have followed by every Youtuber to make money through monetization. As part of the application process, if you only have one AdSense account then you’ll need to connect to an AdSense account to get paid. The steps are
1. Go to Google search and click on the “Sign up for Google AdSense” page. If you already have an AdSense account then you can use the one that’s already approved. Apart from this, you can link as many of your channels as you want to a single AdSense account.
2. If you don’t have an AdSense account then you can create one by following the given instructions on the screen. Once you’ve connected your AdSense, you’ll find this step with a green “Done” sign on the “Sign up for Google AdSense” page.
First 1000 Subscriber
As I explained in my last blog, that it will take some time to get the first 1000 subscribers, still you can start with your own people like Friends, Family, Office Colleagues, and Relatives, etc. There is no shame to ask people to subscribe to your channel or share your content with others. Start promoting your channel as much as you can.
Initially you get up to 100-150 subscribers easily within your audience. Apart from this, you can share your videos on every other social media channel like Facebook, WhatsApp, Blogs, Instagram, etc. The rest of the subscribers will increase, depending upon your content, so make it unique & best all the time.
Once your channel will become popular then you will start getting organic subscribers from all around but again don’t forget to promote yourself endlessly. Apart from this, you can embed your video content link in other social media comment sections, wherever it is necessary. Personally, I would say this is very helpful to increase your subscribers.
YouTube Studio
I know you are familiar with YouTube Studio. This has many features like Channel Dashboard, Analytics, Monetization, Customization, etc. On the channel monetization page, where you’ll be notified when you reach the subscriber and public watch hour threshold. To check if your channel meets the threshold then follow these instructions:
1. Sign in to YouTube.
2. You can see in the top right, click on your profile picture then select YouTube Studio.
3. In the left menu, click Monetization.
4. If you’re under the threshold then click on Notify me when I’m eligible to get an email, which will activate only when you’ll achieve 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 public watch hours over the past 365 days.
Once you get into the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), meet the threshold after reviewing all the YouTube Monetization Policies, follow these:
1. Now click Start on the “Review Partner Program Terms” tab.
2. Once you’ve signed the term, you’ll find this step with a green “Done” sign on the “Review Partner Program terms” card.
Latest YouTube Update – 4000 Watch Hours
As I just mentioned above that from the last few months, the public watch hours are not increasing on the monetization page correctly. YouTube mentioned that they will be fixing this issue ASAP, which I explained the same in the below video in detail.
But, this issue won’t fix ever from now on. There is no use in sending feedback or complaint to the YouTube team because you won’t be getting any reply from them. But let me tell you one thing that recently YouTube has launched one new feature called “YouTube Shorts”, where they will promote the YouTube shorts videos. It means those videos, which duration has around or less than 60 seconds won’t consider in regular videos.
Even though, you have followed all the rules that how YouTube would consider your videos under public watch hours. If you only upload short videos and after that thinking that your public watch hours are not increasing, so stop making it because YouTube won’t pay you for this.
How To Complete 4000 Watch Hours
I’ll suggest, whenever you upload any video, the duration must have at least more than 5 minutes. Set their visibility under Public mode and then publish it. Longer and quality videos always consider under public watch hours, but short videos not at all. That’s why you get a good number of views in short videos.
I hope that I have answered all of your questions and covered all the essential points of YouTube 4000 watch hours. If you follow all the above points from the beginning, you can do better on YouTube and start earning quickly.
So, this is how you can complete 4000 watch hours in the easiest way. If you have any further questions in your mind or you want me to write on a specific topic, feel free to mention the same in the comment box. You can subscribe to my channel to get the latest YouTube updates and many more!
