Munnar is one of the beautiful tourist spots in KeralaSouth India. It is also known as God’s Own Country, Kerala is the fourth largest tea producer among the 16 states in India. When you think about Munnar the first picture that comes to your mind is Tea Garden. Munnar is a hill station surrounded by some of the most scenic verdant Ladder Tea Plantations in India. The best part is, when you visit Munnar and have a cup of tea, you feel amazed and a different taste with its unique fragrance naturally.

You can also buy different flavors of tea at a cheaper price. Most of the tea brands have their plantation and export worldwide. Go and see their cultivation process and a perfect place to shoot your pictures and videos. You can also visit the Tea Museums of Tata KDHP in Munnar.

MATTUPETTY DAM – A MUST VISIT PLACE IN MUNNAR

Mattupetty is the most visited destination in Munnar. It is a perfect place for a picnic and to admire the views. Regularly most of the visitors arrive here and they love visiting the dam. Families can be seen enjoying a fine afternoon near the lake area.

The view of the valley from here is breathtaking, happy faces enjoying a fine afternoon in the area. This is also the best spot for boating and one gets to simply relax and enjoy the beautiful weather out here.

Mattupetty Dam is loved by all visitors. The falling water sound is quite relaxing and soothing, especially when you don’t hear anyone’s noise around you.

THEKKADY

Thekkady is a town near Periyar National Park (approx 93 km from Munnar), an important tourist attraction because of its wildlife experience. Here you can enjoy bamboo rafting in the catchment area of Mullaiperiyar Dam. It is also popular for its good eating joints, you can enjoy its vast stretches of spice gardens and various adventure sports.

If you want, you can also enjoy a night trek in the wilderness of Periyar. It is possible that you will find wild elephants in mid of your way anytime as it is one of the finest wildlife reserves in India.

ROSE GARDEN

The Rose Garden in Munnar is a great place to visit and reinvigorate your senses. It can be reached easily by the local bus or a cab, at a distance of 4 km from Munnar Bus Stand. The Rose Garden is so beautiful, with hundreds of colorful blossom flowers and herbal plants.

At Rose Garden, an individual gets to see a variety of roses along with trees like Litchi, Rambutan, Cardamom, Strawberry, as well as Amla. The garden has ayurvedic medicinal plants, trees, shrubs, climbers, and spices like Bhringraj, Cardamom, Black Pepper, Cinnamon, Neelakurinji, Cocoa Tree, Kayam, Fig tree, MandogaBrahmi, Brahmi, Nutmeg, Kurumthotty, and a number of other types of plants and trees.

After the whole visit, the guide will take you to their ayurvedic medicine shop. They might force you to buy their products, which I strongly recommend not to buy anything until you actually require it because it’s overpriced. Moreover, they have already charged you an entry fee of Rs.100/- per person.

I am writing this with my own experience and I really hate that part!

Places To Visit in Munnar Echo Point

About 15 km from Munnar lies the most famous Echo Point. It is quite popular for its natural echo phenomenon, one can always see the area full of avid visitors throughout the season. Usually, people love taking a walk in the lush greenery surrounding the place and it’s an ideal picnic spot like Mattupetty.

The misty background surrounded by a green blanket makes this place more mesmerized. You can find some roadside local shops, from where you can buy handicrafts & souvenirs for your loved ones.

DREAMLAND FUN AND ADVENTURE

If you are traveling to Munnar, then I’ll highly recommend you to visit Dreamland. This place is for everyone, whether you are a kid or an adult. Because you must have been to different types of water and adventure parks in your city, but this place has something different, and experience is unlike all.

You find all sorts of activities and sports adventures like zip lines, camel rides, cable cars, mountain biking, haunted house, and many more. A variety of adventure games at Dreamland are wonderful means to experience wholesome thrills.
