Before You Make A YouTube Channel – What’s Your Niche?
If you are a beginner and going with an aim to be a successful professional YouTuber then I would suggest you have a Niche for your channel. For a YouTube channel, a niche is a specific topic type or a category! Make sure you must have your niche for a blog channel – the one you are more passionate about and have interested in. That way you will follow your passion and enjoy your YouTube journey.
Let me give you a simple example. What’s your channel about? If your answer such as, “My channel is all about fitness, and it’s about gaming too, “and it’s also about travel,” and so on, so it won’t make any sense. Once you’ve grown your channel, people love watching your videos and you’ve got millions of subscribers who madly follow you only then you can take them on a journey wherever you want.
Open YouTube & Sign-in
If you‘ve ever signed into Gmail, Google Maps, Google Play, or any other Google service, you must have a Google Account, which will help you to sign-in to the YouTube channel. It doesn’t matter whether the name and email address associated with your existing Google account. Because your existing Google account details won’t be publicly linked with your YouTube account as the account is just a key to get you in.
If you don’t yet have a Google account then follow these
1. Go to the Google account creation page. You can use an existing email address or choose to create a new Gmail address for your account.
2. Enter your details and click Next. That’s It!
Your channel will come with the same name as your Google account, which you can immediately.
In order to change the name of your new YouTube account. You need to click on your account profile and select Settings. In settings, select Edit on Google, and change the channel name whatsoever you want to keep. After this just refresh the page once, now you can see the channel name has been changed. Create Your YouTube Brand Account
Your Google account will give you a personal YouTube account automatically. With a personal YouTube account, you will be the owner of the channel, meaning you can’t use your brand name. However, to create a business YouTube account, you will need to set up a Brand Account.
With a YouTube brand account, you can give access to your team members and customize your channel accordingly. To create a one, log in to YouTube using your Google account details and open your YouTube channels page. To create a new brand channel
1. Go to your account profile and select Settings.
2. In settings, select Add or manage your channel(s).
3. Click on Create a new channel.
4. Enter your brand name and click Create. That’s It!
Now if you go back to your channels page, you’ll find both your accounts (Personal & Brand). It also gives you access to YouTube analytics, which gives you great insights into who’s watching your videos and what kind of content they respond to best.

Every brand in the world has its own logo/identity image, so before anyone comes to your channel and view your video content, make sure that you’ve crafted imagery for your channel that clicks with your brand.
So it’s important to present a strong brand identity, just as you have a dedicated icon and banner for the likes of Facebook or Twitter, YouTube is no different. In order to add/change the channel image, refer to the following steps
1. You need to perform this on your computer and log in to your YouTube account. Now go to your account profile icon on the top right of the screen and select Your channel.
2. Click on Customize Channel, you will redirect to the YouTube Studio page, under the Channel Customization, select Branding.
3. Here you can change the Banner image, Profile picture & Video watermark of your channel.
4. You can preview how your cover art will look on different devices, also adjust the banner cropping accordingly.
I will suggest you use the YouTube template so that your designed cover image will work on all screens. Refer to the below images
The dimensions for YouTube images are like:
Channel icon: Recommended picture at least 98 x 98 pixels and 4MB or less. Use a PNG or GIF (no animations) file.
Channel banner: For the best results on all devices, use an image that’s at least 2048 x 1152 pixels and 6MB or less.
Video Watermark: An image that’s 150 x 150 pixels is recommended & use a PNG, GIF (no animations), BMP, or JPEG file that’s 1MB or less.
Channel Description
Before people know your channel by your videos, make sure you are letting them know about it through the description. A short statement or welcome message is all that’s really necessary. In order to write the channel description for your page:
1. Log into your YouTube account on your computer, now go to your account profile icon on the top right of the screen and Your channel.
2. Click on Customize Channel, you will redirect to the YouTube Studio page, under the Channel Customization, select Basic Info. Here you can add or change the channel description. Banner image, Profile picture & Video watermark of your channel.
3. Click on Done, the description has been saved. That’s It! Refer to the below images
If you want to include a couple of links (up to 5) like your website or the devices you are using for your videos then go for it. Apart from this, you can update your business email address as well.
Upload Your First Video & Promote Everywhere
